If the name, Quets, is even vaguely
familiar, it probably brings to mind images of twin  babies, Canada,
and court rooms. It might even make you think of sick pregnant women.
People around the world are wondering how in the
world a competent, educated, and loving mother could lose her babies
to a couple with no ties to them.
After two years, I am still shocked that my children's interests and rights have also been ignored.

Some news stories have discussed the impact of this custody dispute on the couple holding my children. Not enough attention has been focused on the rights of my children, their emotional and psychological health, and their best interests.
These children have been needlessly separated from their mother. This will cause pain and suffering for them in the future. I have also suffered greatly. The emotional distress and pain is indescribable.

THE PURPOSE OF ADOPTION IS TO PROVIDE
A HOME FOR A CHILD IN NEED,
NOT PROVIDE A CHILD FOR A FAMILY IN NEED.
The reality is that many people feel entitled to whatever it is they desire, even another mother’s children. They justify this by saying they are better parents and that it is better for the children. However, there is always someone better.
Does that mean that one has the right to take another’s child because of some notion that you are the better person? I suppose that would mean that the 10 best parents in America would be parents to all the children in this country.
 When a mother feels overwhelmed by the early days of motherhood and especially exhausted by the demands of twins, it is very easy for a healthy married couple to take advantage of a vulnerable new mother.
The selfishness of such couples causes great loss to these children who will forever live with the grief and confusion, as well as the pain, of being denied a loving relationship with their mother.
One day, when my children know that I sacrificed everything  in my fight to be their mother and to love them, they will face a second loss, anger at the people who created this tragedy in their lives. They will certainly experience trust and abandonment issues.
No matter how much they want and can love a child, most
adopters are
blind
to the child’s pain of separation.
This does not make for good parents.

This is the reason adoption
is being discouraged in other countries. Given a little support,
which is the role of social service organizations and families,
many of these families can be preserved and the parents can successfully and happily raise a secure
child into a productive adult.  My
twins, Tyler and Holly, are more important to me than anything else in
the world. I have lost everything fighting to bring them home. Nothing
will take
away my desire to be a mother to my precious children. I
nearly died twice giving them life, and we have a bond that will never be broken. It is in the best interests of my twins that they are reunited with their mother. This is as God intended.

Now, the adoption industry is being looked at with a microscope. Such scrutiny suggests that
unethical and  illegal practices abound in cases like mine. According to the Ottawa
Sun,
this case has garnered international attention and won the support of many
who believe the adoption system is rigged against mothers.
"Ninety percent of the women we see ... feel they were completely and totally violated when they surrendered
the rights of their children,"
said Sheri
Sexton, director of the Ontario branch of Origins Canada, an advocacy
group for mothers who lost children through adoption.
Prospective adoptive parent's
interest in the child he wishes to adopt does not rise to level of
fundamental
liberty interest entitled to
substantive protection of due process clause.
