When I was a young girl, I dreamed of being a mother. I loved the
many children I spent my time babysitting and could not wait
until it would be my turn.
Years passed and I got first a bachelor's degree in psychology,
then two master's degrees, one in social work and one in computer
science. My focus became one of achievement and I enjoyed much
success during my twenty years at a fortune 500 company. However,
I still yearned to be a mother. This was always my dream. So, I planned and
saved, knowing real joy to me was having a family. A career was
just part of life for now.
In my twenties,
I married and settled down, ready to begin a family. However, my
husband ultimately decided he did not want children and soon I
was again single. My idea of a family seemed lost and I immersed
myself in my career and sports, such as swimming and bikeriding, However, I continued to save and denyed myself expensive
pleasures in order to provide for my babies and my life as a mother. I hope to make my dream of motherhood a reality
one day, whether single or married.
